Villanova Looks For Big East Win Vs. Providence

By Matt Leon

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Villanova sits at 10-13 this season and 3-8 in the Big East after Sunday's 79-70 loss in Pittsburgh to the Panthers.

They will try to get back on track tonight as they welcome Providence to the Pavilion.  It's been a struggle for the Friars as well this season.  While they enjoy a 13-11 record overall, they haven't been very good in the conference as they sit below the Wildcats in the standings with a 2-9 Big East mark.

The Wildcats continue to be led by junior guard Maalik Wayns and his 18.4 points per game.  Wayns is also high man on the squad with 105 assists.

Providence is led by junior guard Vincent Council, who averages 16.1 points and more than five assists a game.

KYW's Matt Leon spoke with the radio voice of Villanova basketball, Ryan Fannon, about the match-up.
