PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Sixers have sent second-year forward Craig Brackins to their D-League affiliate, the Maine Red Claws.
Brackins spent a good part of the 2010-11 season in the D-League, averaging 20.1 points and 8.6 rebounds for the Springfield Armor.
Brackins hasn’t been in the the front-court rotation for the Sixers at all this season, even with injuries to Spencer Hawes, Nikola Vucevic and Elton Brand. He did show an improved three-point shooting touch in training camp and the pre-season, but that hasn’t translated into playing time, averaging just over three minutes in eight games during the regular season.
The Sixers acquired Brackins in a trade before the 2010-11 season, as part of a deal that sent Willie Green and Jason Smith to the New Orleans Hornets. He was drafted in the first round (21st overall) by the Oklahoma City Thunder in the 2010 draft.
