PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Flyers are back on home ice tonight as they host the New York Islanders. The Orange and Black will be looking to bounce back from a pair of losses to division rivals over the weekend as they fell on Saturday to the Devils and lost Sunday at Madison Square Garden to the Rangers.
The Flyers will have a familiar presence back in the line-up tonight as forward Danny Briere is set to return after missing six games with a concussion.
Last time these two teams met back on January 19th at the Center, the Islanders picked up a 4-1 win and that snapped a 13-game losing streak for the Isles in South Philadelphia. Even with that loss, Flyers have still won 26 of their last 29 meetings with the Islanders overall.
KYW’s Matt Leon spoke with Sam Carchidi, the Flyers beat writer for the Philadelphia Inquirer, about this match-up.
