UPPER DARBY Twp., Pa. (CBS) -- A Delaware County elementary school principal is being held on $20,000 cash bail after being arrested for assaulting his live-in partner, a woman who's a teacher in the Southeast Delco School District.

Upper Darby Township Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood says prinicipal Michael Jordan was arrested after the Saturday morning attack on his live in girlfriend.

"He was appretnly angry with her because she had threatened to leave him, or wasn't sleeping with him and he proceeded to pull her out of bed, and bounce her off the wall, and smack her around, and wrestle her to the floor, she tried to fight him off, she tried to escape, fell down the steps."

Jordan is charged with assault and recklessly endangering another person. Chitwood says this case shows that domestic abuse is not confined to one economic class, but crosses all lines.
