PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - If you’re planning a Big Game in Indianapolis party but want to offer your guests some healthy alternatives, the LaSalle University Nutrition Club has some options for you.
Susan Adams, a Nutrition Professor at LaSalle, says the Nutrition Club had a sampling of health snacks on campus yesterday.
“Taco dip, buffalo chicken dip and spinach dip. They’re serving them with fresh vegetables.”
Anna Clift is a senior nutrition major who came up with the recipes.
“I took normal recipes that my family and friends use all the time for our parties for any time of event we have and I modified them using fat-free and low-fat products.”
Sophomore Madison Ponton stopped by for a sample.
“I wouldn’t even have known that they were veggie or healthy if they didn’t tell me, it was all very good.”
Clift says the modified recipes have half the calories or less of the regular recipes.
