PENNSAUKEN, N.J. (CBS) — Some local brides will be getting an early Valentine’s Day gift next week at a South Jersey secondhand store.
Workers at the Goodwill store on Route 70 in Pennsauken, NJ were furiously unpacking bridal gowns today and organizing them in preparation for their fourth annual Valentine’s Bridal Sale Extravaganza, on February 11th.
“Throughout the year, we solicit from are bridal stores, asking them to please donate any surplus gowns or floor samples, seasonal things that they’re getting rid of,” says Julie Lundberg (above), with Goodwill of Southern New Jersey and Philadelphia. “We warehouse them for the year, and then we bring them all together for this one-day event.”
Lundberg says it’s not just exciting for the brides, it’s also exciting for Goodwill because this sale is a huge fundraiser for them.
“The money is funneled directly into our mission programs, helping people with disabilities find jobs, so it’s a win-win for Goodwill and for local brides,” she tells KYW Newsradio.
The wedding dresses — approximately 200 of them — will be priced between $50 and $300 each.
