One Person Injured In Overnight Wilmington Shooting

WILMINGTON, Del. (CBS) – A woman was struck by a bullet in Wilmington early Saturday morning.

At around 12:24 a.m., officers responded to reports of shots fired near the 1500 block of N. French Street in Wilmington.

Upon arrival, police located the victim, a black female, who said she was standing on the northeast corner of 15th & French Sts when an unknown black male began shooting at a group of people standing near her. As she attempted to flee eastbound on E. 15th St, the suspect fired at her, striking her in the right side of her abdomen.

The victim was transported to Christiana Hospital, where she was treated and is listed in stable condition.
