Valley Forge Casino Resort Taking Shape In King Of Prussia

By Brad Segall

KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. (CBS) - The Philadelphia region is getting another gaming hall and officials at Valley Forge Casino Resort say everything is on target for an early spring opening in King of Prussia.

On Tuesday, the casino took delivery of more than 200 slot machines. When the doors open, there will be 600 machines and 50 table games on the casino floor.

While he wouldn't yet commit to a grand opening date, President and CEO Sal Scheri says they are still sticking to their original timetable of early spring.

"We're working at a frenzied pace here and things are changing on a daily basis. We're so excited to see the casino start to take shape. We're moving to stay on schedule and right now -- we are on schedule."

What makes this venue different from the three other casinos in the Delaware Valley? Scheri says it's a resort, complete with two hotels, seven restaurants, a nightclub, spa and pool and more than 100,000 square feet of meeting and convention space. In addition to the temporary construction jobs, the casino will employ about 650 people.
