Suspect Sought In Armed Robbery Of Germantown Rite Aid

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Philadelphia police are searching for suspect who was caught on tape using a gun to steal cigarettes from a pharmacy this past weekend.

The robbery happened January 21st at about 8:20 p.m. at the Rite Aid on E. Washington Lane in North Philadelphia.

According to investigators, the suspect entered the store and displayed a black handgun to an employee. The suspect demanded money and cigarettes.

The employee filled a bag with cigarettes, but was unable to open the cash register. The suspect then ran out of the store.

The suspect is described as a black male in his 20's, 5'9", dark complected with a beard and medium build. He was wearing a black-hooded sweatshirt, black leather jacket, blue jeans and brown work boots.

Rite Aid and the Citizens Crime Commission are offering a $5,000 reward for the arrest of the suspect in this robbery.
