STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (CBS) – Memorial arrangements for Joe Paterno have been announced and it is going to be a tough ticket to get.
The public memorial service will be held Thursday at Penn State’s Bryce Jordan Center. It is being called “A Memorial for Joe”, there’s no charge, but you will need a ticket to get in. And with about 16,000 seats, you can bet demand will be high.
Tickets are available online or you can call 1-800-NITTANY. They will be available starting at 10 a.m. this morning, with a limit of two-per-person.
While the informal mourning continues, the Paterno family has announced plans for a 10 hour viewing today starting at 1 p.m. at the Pasquerilla Spiritual Center on the Penn State campus.
There will be another four hour viewing at 8 a.m. Wednesday, followed by a private funeral Wednesday afternoon.
As arrangements were being announced, word came from the White House that President Obama had called the Paterno family to express his condolences.
