Icy Road Conditions, Freezing Rain Wreak Havoc Across The Region

By Tim Jimenez

Philadelphia (CBS) – At around 2 a.m. police say a speeding car on Hunting Park Avenue spun out of control and was broad sided, killing two and injuring two others, so please drive slowly and leave extra space.

"Some of them had a little bit of slush on them like 422 and 309. But we're continuing to go out and spread the salt. We have our new tow plow engaged and it's out working on 422 and the Schuylkill Expressway," says PennDot spokesman Charles Metzger.

He also says to make sure you clean off all of the snow and ice off of your car before your drive.

Some cancellations at the airport; some arriving flights are averaging a two-hour delay. Check www.phl.org.

Septa, PATCO are running close to schedule and New Jersey Transit is cross-honoring tickets and passes.
