Reaction To The Steve Spagnuolo Hiring

By Spike Eskin

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Many Eagles fans were hoping there was a bit of a homecoming in store for Steve Spagnuolo, and he'd become the Defensive Coordinator in Philadelphia. Not so. As 94 WIP's Anthony Gargano reported, Spagnuolo is heading to New Orleans to do that job for the Saints.

So what does that mean for the Eagles? Here's what people are saying.

Bleeding Green Nation says that Spagnuolo went to the Saints because it's the better job.

Jeff Duncan of the Times-Picayune called the hiring a home run for the Saints.

Bob Grotz suggests that Andy Reid talked Spagnuolo out of coming to Philadelphia because of front office dysfunction.

94 WIP's Howard Eskin said via Twitter that this means that Juan Castillo will most likely return.

Giorgos Kassakos of Bleacher Report says that Spagnuolo not coming to Philadelphia is good news for Eagles fans.
