Philadelphia Flyers (Wives) Are Hottest Ticket In Town

By Matthew Nadu

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --The Philadelphia Flyers are already the hottest ticket in town; now their wives have upped the ante.

Flyers captain and defenseman Chris Pronger and his wife, Lauren, will be hosting the Inaugural Flyers Wives Fashion Show at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday night at the Hyatt at the Bellevue, once again showing Philadelphia just how closely knit the organization is to the community.

Many of the Flyers will be in attendance—and dressed to the nines—to watch their wives model the debut line of the Artelier label from Philly fashion icon Nicole Miller. The city's first lady Lisa Nutter, as well as Tammy Reid (wife of Eagles head coach Andy Reid), Peter and Kristen Laviolette and supermodel Angelika Kallio will also be there.

And just in case you were wondering if there's any animosity off the ice, all looks clear: goalies Sergei Bobrovsky and Ilya Bryzgalov will both be in attendance, along with their wives.

Due to their tireless work with local charities and their level of sportsmanship, the Flyers are perhaps the most popular and accessible sports franchise in Philadelphia—especially since hosting the Winter Classic earlier this month. And while fans can catch a glimpse of many members of the Flyers out and about in the city on any given night, the Flyers Wives Fashion Show is an event that offers the rare opportunity to actually meet some of the most elite players—and their gorgeous wives—during the cocktail reception, and in one of the city's most beautiful venues.

In addition to seeing some of their favorite players in person, guests will also have a chance to bid on unique Flyers memorabilia, including autographed sticks, pucks and jerseys from past and present players, and the proceeds from the night will assist Comcast-Spectacor Charities.

Tickets to the event are still available to the public. And with sports, fashion and spirits, it's sure to be a night to remember.
