NEWPORT, Del. (AP) — Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal crash on Interstate 95 near Newport.

Police say 19-year-old Anna Marie Silva was driving on northbound I-95 early Saturday morning when her car drifted onto the right shoulder and swiped a concrete barrier. The car then swerved to the left and crossed five lanes of traffic before striking a concrete median.

Police say Silva was killed in the crash. Two passengers weren’t properly restrained and suffered minor injuries.

The highway was closed for more than two hours for the crash to be cleared.
