PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Philadelphia police are investigating the shooting and robbery of a cab driver early Wednesday morning.
The incident happened at about 4:30 a.m. at 20th and Catharine Streets in the city’s Point Breeze section.
According to investigators, the 35-year-old cab driver was robbed and then shot in the head and face with a pellet gun. He was taken to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital for treatment and was later released.
After being shot, the cab driver crashed into the back of another car. There were no reports of any other injuries.
The suspect fled the scene on foot after the shooting and robbery. Anyone with information is urged to call 911.
