PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Looked at gasoline prices lately? They’re starting 2012 at their highest levels ever.
“In Philadelphia, we’re seeing an average price of gasoline at $3.44 a gallon. That’s up 11 cents a gallon just from last week.”
Gregg Laskoski, Senior Petroleum Analyst with Gasbuddy.com, says you can blame Iran’s response to international sanctions.
“If there’s just one reason we can point to, we’d have to say it’s Iran’s threat to close the Strait of Hormuz in the Persian Gulf.”
Laskoski says gas prices are already at their highest levels ever for early January, and he’s predicting by Memorial Day they’ll top $4 a gallon around here.

It’s a joke time to rob the average consumer again. There is no reason for the rise. The prices should be falling becuase consumer use keeps decreasing. The weather has been much warmer than normal. But they will come up with some excuse. Guess they will tell us because of the warmer weather there production costs are up.
