It’s the season for great ski weekends and snow-surfing getaways. But KYW’s Jay Lloyd reports that the sounds of winter -– at least so far — have changed.

A funny thing happened on the way to the slopes. With every week producing at least one 50-plus-degree day, and more on the way (see Saturday’s forecast), golf courses are seeing an unusual burst of activity.
“Y’know, it’s beautiful out here today,” said one golfer we caught up with. “We can hit on the greens, we can putt.”
Yes, golfers are thrilled. And for golf course operators like Robert Kleckner at Linfield National in Limerick, Pa., it’s a big change from the snow-covered fairways last year at this time.
“This is just some bonus activity, and people are going to get excited for an early spring!” Kleckner says.
So, if you’re heading for an uncertain weekend on the slopes, take your clubs. There are open golf courses near most local and Poconos ski areas. It could be the best of both worlds!
