Duck Boots Coming Quacking Into Style
By John McDevitt
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A style of a hunter's boot that's been around for nearly a century is making a comeback with the fashion conscious.
Duck boots come in all sorts of colors, shapes and sizes from makers like L.L. Bean with their Quilted Faux-Shearling Bean Boot, to Juicy Couture's Raspberry Speckled Herringbone felt.
College freshman Ashante Richards was sporting a pair from UGG she just got last week. "Well, I just have them on today, because it's cold and they're cute! And they match my pants. At first I didn't like them, because I didn't think they were cute, but now i see everybody wearing them so they're cute now (laughs). Cute is key!"
And for just under $200, they should be.
Lena wears them -- not for the fashion, but for function.
"I personally don't like the look of them, but they are just practical and really warm."
The boots range from about $60 to nearly $300.
