La Salle Pulls Away From Hartford, 73-55

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Ramon Galloway and Tyreek Duren each scored 19 points and La Salle defeated Hartford 73-55 on Saturday for its ninth straight win at home.

The Explorers (10-4) have won three in a row and eight of their past nine.

La Salle shot 50.9 percent (29 of 59) from the field, the fifth time in the past eight games the Explorers have made at least 50 percent of their field goal attempts.

Earl Pettis added 11 points, Sam Mills had 10 and Jerrell Wright grabbed 11 rebounds for the Explorers.

Hartford (0-12) led 17-13 midway through the first half before the Explorers took control with a 17-0 run for a 30-17 lead with 2:50 left before halftime.

The Hawks cut the deficit to eight points before La Salle built its biggest lead, 57-35, with 10:23 remaining in the game.

Wes Cole led Hartford with 13 points.
