AAA Mid-Atlantic Offers Insight On Staying Safe New Years Eve

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - It's New Year's Eve - one of the biggest party nights of the year. KYW's Michelle Durham spoke to one local expert about how you can stay safe if you are planning to go out!

AAA Mid-Atlantic spokesperson Jenny Robinson says this is one night you have to plan ahead and use common sense.

"Of course you should not drive impaired, not use alcohol or drugs before you are going to drive. If you are going to be drinking, pick a designated driver. If you are going to a party, ask your host if they can arrange one. If you're hosting, you should offer that."

What about the offer by some AAA organizations to tow you and your car home?

"AAA Mid-Atlantic has been getting some inquiries about programs such as "Tipsy Tow." We know a lot of information is being shared on social media such as Facebook. However, it is not a nationwide program."
