Philadelphia (CBS) – A man is dead in Montgomery County as the result of an early morning shooting. Cheltenham township police say the gunman is still at large.
Cheltenham township police say they’re investigating an early morning shooting death inside a home along the 1400 block of Beach Avenue in the township’s Melrose Park section.
They say that shortly before 2:00 a.m., 911 received a report of a shooting. Upon arrival they found a visitor to the home shot multiple times. He was immediately rushed to the Albert Einstein Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Police would not discuss a motive and the identity of the 25-year-old victim. The gunman is said to have fled in a grey sedan which was later recovered along the 6700 block of Old York Road.
The gunman, who apparently was known by the victim, remains at large.
