Eagles Will Be Without Samuel vs. Cowboys

.

By Matt Leon

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- As the Eagles departed for Texas and tomorrow's game with the Cowboys, they announced that they will be a bit shorthanded on defense for this one.

Cornerback Asante Samuel has been ruled out with a hamstring injury that kept him out of practice.   Cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie is expected to take his place in the defensive backfield.

Elsewhere on the injury front, defensive tackle Trevor Laws is listed as "questionable."   He has a knee injury.

At 6-8, the Eagles are still alive for the NFC East title.   In order to claim it, they need to win out, have the Jets beat the Giants tomorrow, and then have the Giants beat the Cowboys the following week.

Should the Giants win tomorrow in an early game, the Eagles are eliminated from playoff contention.

The Eagles and Cowboys will kick off at 4:15pm.
