PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - An organization called the National Institute of Sport, Expertise and Performance in Paris has encouraged researchers to look at runners and find what methods are best for helping recover from stressful exercise.
The research found that body cooling can be helpful and lead to improvements that occur quite rapidly. They studied a technique called whole body cryotherapy.
But, if you think about it, we have known this for many years. Many athletes immediately turn to ice after exercise to reduce swelling and enhance recovery. It is good to know that research dollars support it.
