AAA Opens Car Care Centers In Philadelphia Suburbs
By Mike DeNardo
Your local car repair shop is getting some competition from a familiar name.
AAA is already known for its roadside service, but this year the agency has begun opening car care centers in the mid-Atlantic region that combine the usual insurance and trip-planning with a full-service garage.
"Our members trust us on the side of the road," says AAA marketing manager Jennifer Husler, "and we just felt, why don't we extend that and take their car in to the repair shop."
Three centers opened this year in Maryland and Virginia. There's one in Clifton Heights (Delaware County), Pa., and the latest opened a month ago on West Lancaster Avenue in Wayne (below), where manager Will Bradley says they can do more than change a tire or check your oil.
"If we had to replace an engine, we can definitely take care of that," he tells KYW Newsradio.

AAA members get discounts, but Bradley says you don't have to be a member to get service.
