Make A Coloring Book From Your Garden

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Here's a great gift you can make for kids. You know those photos you take of your garden all year? You can turn them into a coloring book! It's so simple; with a few clicks in Photoshop or other computer photo programs, a digital color picture becomes a black and white outline ready to color.

Flowers and trees are easy shapes to color and you can include pictures from all seasons - spring bulbs, roses and tomatoes in summer, autumn leaves, hollies in winter. Put plant names on the pages to help kids get to know them. Old photos that aren't digital can be scanned - or if you don't have a computer, you can always just trace photos and photocopy those outlines instead.

Create a cover for your coloring book and personalize it for each child. For details on how easy it is to turn your unique garden photos into coloring book pictures on the computer, you can find videos, and instructions all over the internet, including these simple tips I found helpful.
