PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Temple Lady Owls will be trying to make it two straight wins tonight as they welcome a struggling Kent State squad to the Liacouras Center.
Temple is 3-5 and coming off an impressive victory over Auburn on Sunday, 73-57. That win snapped a five-game losing streak.
Temple head coach Tonya Cardoza talks about what she has learned about her squad through eight games:
“That we’re resilient. We are going to fight to the very end. We have a very competitive spirit. If the ball bounces a couple of different ways in some of those games, we’d have a couple more victories. But I’m happy that in each one of those games we did compete against some of the very best teams out there.”

Kent State staggers into Philadelphia with a record of 1-5. So, what do they bring to the table?
“They play a lot like Villanova,” says Cardoza. “It’s a lot of cutting, a lot of player screens. It’s not really like a set offense, they are just constantly moving.”
Tipoff at the Liacouras Center is set for 7:00pm.
