Pre-Hypertension

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Pre-hypertension needs to be addressed and aggressively treated. When I talk about pre hypertension I am talking about people on the road to high blood pressure.

Now, as you know, I believe the prevention of disease is far more effective than treating health problems later on. Most treatments that are preventive in nature center around lifestyle issues like changing diet and increasing exercise.

Pre-hypertension is now recognized as an international issue and is a major help in control. It is the perfect concept in medicine. You find things that are potential problems and you go after them early.

I truly believe that if we're going to deal with pre-hypertension, we need to understand what the risk factors are and then slowly but surely find ways to attack them to reduce it so those problems won't be as bad.
