PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- CJ Aiken had 13 points and nine blocks as Saint Joseph's University defeated Drexel University, 62-49, on Wednesday night (see preview story).

Aiken, who tied his career-high in blocks, helped the Hawks set a school record with 16 rejections. That breaks the old record of 12 set against Cleveland State on December 2, 1987.

Halil Kanacevik added 12 points, while Langston Galloway and Carl Jones each had 11 for the Hawks (5-2).
Trailing 18-16, St. Joe's broke it open with a 12-0 run, capped by Aiken's jumper with 1:36 to play in the first half.

The Hawks largest advantage was 17 points, and the lead never dipped below double digits in the final 16 minutes of the game.

Drexel started off slowly, making only eight of 28 field goal attempts in the first half. The Dragons (2-3) ended the night shooting 31.3 percent (20 of 64).

Damion Lee led Drexel with 14 points.
