Philadelphia Man Pleads Guilty To Soliciting Sex From Mother And Minor Daughter

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A Philadelphia man and former Rider University professor has pleaded guilty to charges that he planned to meet with a woman and her daughter for sex in an undercover operation.

Dr. Austin Winther, 64, admitted to an online relationship with the people who he believed to be a mother and her 13-year-old daughter. However, they were actually played by an undercover agent from the Boise, Idaho police department. Winther went to Philadelphia International Airport in March to meet the fictitious mother-daughter duo and was arrested. Winther then confessed to the FBI.

"Did you tell the FBI that you communicated with individuals you believed to be a minor girl and her mother and made plans to meet them at Philadelphia International Airport in order to have sexual relations with both the mother and her 13-year-old daughter?" asked Judge Jan DuBois in court.

"Yes your honor," Winther answered.

Winther also admitted to sending pornography to the mother and child and said he wanted to broaden the child's sexual knowledge.

Sentencing guidelines call for a sentence of about six to eight years in prison. Winther will be sentenced in April.
