Man Hurt in North Philadelphia House Explosion and Fire

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia Fire Department officials were investigating an explosion in North Philadelphia that caused a rowhouse to collapse, leaving a man injured.

It happened around 10:30 this morning, in the 1100 block of West Ontario Street.  Officials say the building was partially collapsed when fire crews arrived, and there was a small fire on the first floor, which was quickly put out.

One man was trapped, and had to be freed by firefighters. He was taken to Temple University Hospital but there was no immediate word on his condition.  Everyone else in the building was able to get out safely.

Fire officials continued to investigate the cause of the explosion.
