Reading Terminal Market Sets Up Holiday Train Display

Philadelphia (CBS) – It's a family tradition in Philadelphia where for the eight year model train enthusiasts of all ages make a stop at the Reading Terminal Market's holiday train display.

There are interactive buttons on the 500 square foot display. People can move the figures, illuminate lights and make things like amusement rides move as 17 working train lines make travel on nearly a third of a mile of track through miniature scenery including Center City Philadelphia, a Christmas village and snow-covered countryside.

Michael Kavinson of Acme Railroads sets up the display and says it's a big hit year after year.

"As we are putting it up we have a number people come up and just say thank you this is so much fun, such pleasure. And especially in today's economic times I think it's great to bring smiles and that is the biggest reward."

The railroad will be on display in the piano court inside the Reading Terminal Market located at 12th and Arch Streets.
