DHS Provides 52 Needy Families With Thanksgiving Dinner

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – More than fifty Philadelphia families received the makings for a Thanksgiving feast on Saturday.

The 52 families, all involved with the Department of Human Services (DHS), were given all of the supplies to make Thanksgiving dinner due to the support of District Council 33-Local 1637, Brown’s Family Shop Rite and DHS.

The baskets included turkey, cranberry sauce, gravy, macaroni and cheese, sweet potatoes, string beans and a pie, and were delivered to needy families on Saturday morning, just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday.
