Two Accidents Occur In Close Proximity On PA Turnpike, 3 People Injured

KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. (CBS) – A car accident on the Pennsylvania Turnpike overnight left two people injured before a second accident occurred nearby.

Around 3:20 a.m., a car traveling westbound on the turnpike became disabled and was hit by a tractor trailer. Two people in the car were injured.

Then, as a medical helicopter landed in the eastbound lanes just after 4 a.m.—presumably to transport the injured victims in the disabled car—a tractor trailer crashed into a vacant maintenance pick-up truck.

The driver of the tractor trailer was taken to Mercy Hospital with minor injuries. The conditions of the two injured in the earlier accident remain unknown.
