Police Identify Man Killed In I-76 Multi-Vehicle Crash In Montgomery County

UPPER MERION TOWNSHIP, Pa. (CBS) - Police have indentified the man killed in a multi-vehicle accident involving a tractor-trailer along Interstate 76 in Montgomery County on Friday morning.

Authorities say 59-year-old Louis Davis of Philadelphia was killed in the accident that shut down I-76 westbound lanes near the Gulph Mills, Route 202 exit in Upper Merion Township (see related story).

Also injured in the accident were 36-year-old Stash Brown of Wisconsin, 61-year-old Frances Payton-Stout of Turnersville, New Jersey and 22-year-old Arielle Froumy of Bridgeton, New Jersey.

According to police, Davis was traveling in the left lane of the Expressway when he was rear-ended by another vehicle. Payton-Stout and Froumy, who were driving in the right lane, slowed down as a result of congested traffic. Police say the driver of the tractor-trailer, Brown, who was also in the right lane, was traveling too closely behind congested traffic conditions and attempted to stop and swerved into the left lane, striking Davis' 2007 Dodge Caliber.

Police haven't released any details on the conditions of the other victims or on charges at this time.
