Autopsy Reveals Violent Encounter In Hammonton, Investigation Continues

HAMMONTON, N.J. (CBS) -- Police are still searching for the person, or people responsible for the murder of a mother and her 29-year old son in Hammonton, NJ.

64-year old Diana Patterson and her son Ryan were found murdered inside their Madison Avenue home Thursday morning. (see related story)

The Atlantic County Prosecutor's office says Diana was stabbed at least 10-times, and Ryan had been stabbed at least 20-times. Despite his injuries, authorities say that Ryan was able to call 9-1-1 and report the attack, but by the time police and rescue crews arrived on the scene, both victims were dead.

Police have released few other details of the homicides, and anyone with information is urged to call the Atlantic County Prosecutor's office at 609-909-7800.
