MOORESTOWN, N.J. (CBS) – Police in a Burlington County town are searching for several suspects who tied up and robbed a convenience store employee early Friday morning.
The incident happened at about 4 a.m. at the 7-Eleven store located on Chester Avenue in Moorestown, New Jersey.
According to investigators, two suspects wearing dark-colored hoodies, ski masks and gloves entered the store and ordered the employee at gunpoint to the freezer at the rear of the store.
The clerk was duct-taped and guarded by the original two suspects as two more suspects then entered the store and attempted unsuccessfully to remove the Citibank ATM machine from the store using a hand truck.
The suspects then took the clerk’s wallet containing approximately $400 in cash and left the store.
The clerk was able to free himself and call 911. He was not injured.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Moorestown Police Department tip line at 856-914-3092.
