Missing Florida Teen Found In Philadelphia, Linked To Basement Captive Case

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A missing 15-year-old girl from Florida has turned up in Philadelphia and appears to be linked to a case involving four adults who were held against their will inside a Tacony basement.

The girl has been identified as Benita Rodriquez from West Palm Beach. Rodriquez was last seen in West Palm Beach on July 4th. Investigators say she surfaced in Philadelphia late Monday evening.

Investigators say Rodriquez was last seen with Gregory Thomas, who they believe is the son of suspect Gregory Thomas. The elder Thomas is one of three suspects being charged with allegedly holding four mentally challenged adults in a sub-basement in a Tacony apartment building. (READ: Related Story)

The four adults were allegedly being held inside a West Palm Beach home before being taken to the building in Tacony.

Rodriquez's mom said she went into the West Palm Beach home looking for her daughter.

"The same day that my daughter came up missing, the next day when we went there, they were gone," Rodriquez's mother said, who asked to not be identified.

Rodriquez is currently being questioned by investigators.

Police public affairs are expected to release more information later Tuesday possibly in a news briefing.
