PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A fire in a Roxborough shopping center overnight destroyed four businesses and damaged at least another three storefronts.

The fire in the 8900 block of Ridge Avenue was called into 911 at 3:18 a.m. and quickly escalated to a second alarm as firefighters called in additional equipment and manpower.

The fire apparently started in a bingo hall and quickly spread to Pinky Nails and the Lucky Star Chinese Restaurant. All three businesses were destroyed. A cigar shop, that was located next to the bingo hall, was partially damaged.

Six other businesses located in the strip mall were not impacted by the fire.

The fire was brought under control at about 5 a.m.

There is no word yet on what triggered the fire. No injuries have been reported.
