Man Charged In Death Of Philadelphia Woman Found In Car

UPPER DARBY, Pa. (AP) -- Police say a man has admitted killing a woman whose body was found in a car outside Philadelphia, telling authorities the shooting was accidental.

Upper Darby police say 23-year-old Charles Deloatche confessed Saturday to killing and dumping the body of 18-year-old Camilla Stephenson.

Stephenson's body was discovered Friday at the Creek Road Apartments. She'd been shot once in the head.

Investigators say Deloatche went to police on Saturday to say he'd shot Stephenson accidentally during a struggle over the gun. Police say the car her body was found in was linked to a home-invasion earlier this month.

Defense attorney Kevin Mark Wray tells the Philadelphia Daily News that Stephenson's death was self-defense.
