PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The great season for Temple University junior running back Bernard Pierce continued on Saturday — he ran for 152 yards and two touchdowns in the Owls’ 34-0 win over Buffalo, at Lincoln Financial Field (see game story).
For his efforts, Pierce has been named the Mid-American Conference “Offensive Player of the Week” for the East Division.
The game against the Bulls was also historic for Pierce as he became Temple’s all-time career leader in touchdowns, with 44. He also set the Owls’ single-season mark for finding the end zone — he now has 17 touchdowns in 2011.
Temple will visit Bowling Green on Saturday.
