PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Authorities say a man was shot and killed by an on-duty Philadelphia police officer Saturday morning.

It happened at Olga’s bar at the corner of Percy and Pike streets in Hunting Park at about 12:30 a.m.

A dispute between two men, including 26-year-old Aldophus Pinkney, escalated and shots were fired, according to authorities. When police arrived, they tried to subdue Pinkney who they say opened fire at them.

A police officer returned fire, killing the suspect. Pinkney was pronounced dead at the scene.
