“Collab is still a collaboration of design professionals. It came together in 1970 with the idea that the museum should be collecting modern and contemporary design. We could buy a chair or an object by a very important architect or designer and put it in an exhibition,” says Kathryn Hiesinger, Curator of European Decorative Arts After 1700.
Plus, this is a unique interactive exhibit.
“We thought to ask the public to help us decide what to include in our collections. We created a choice of four and allowed the public to chose. We are going to put the winning chair into this empty space in the exhibition.”
