College Football: Univ. of Delaware Hosts UMass on Saturday

NEWARK, Del. (CBS) - The Blue Hens are home again this Saturday, hosting Massachusetts in another Colonial Athletic Association match-up.

Delaware sits at 4-2 on the season after last week's 21-0 smothering of William & Mary in Newark.

Delaware head coach KC Keeler says they have to continue the strong play against the Minutemen that keyed the win against the Tribe.

"We're playing a very athletic team in UMass," Keeler tells KYW Newsradio.  "They score a lot of points and we need to have the same kind of effort.   It's Groundhog Day here, if you look at the schedule.  Everyone is able to beat everybody, it's just the way the CAA is.  There's no weeks off, that's for sure."

UMass can indeed score points -- they average 30.4 per game.

What makes that offensive unit so successful?

"They have one of the best running backs in the league (senior Jonathan Hernandez), and they will run the ball at you," Keeler says.  "And then they are going to play-action pass and try hitting you on some big plays.  A lot of max protect, go for the big ball downfield, those kind of things.  We need to get pressure on the quarterback."

The Blue Hens also feature a talented running back: sophomore Andrew Pierce is rolling in 2011 with 632 yards on the ground and eight scores.  He also paces Delaware with 30 catches.

Delaware has dominated this series all-time, winning 25 of those 31 match-ups.

Kickoff at Delaware Stadium is set for 3:30pm on Saturday.
