Corbett Keeping Mum On GOP Presidential Endorsement – For Now

HARRISBURG, Pa. (CBS) - Governor Corbett says he's remaining on the sidelines – at least for now – as the Republican presidential candidates continue to duke it out.

Any of the GOP presidential candidates seeking the endorsement of the Republican governor of the sixth largest state in the union will have to continue to wait. And Governor Corbett says he's not anywhere near making an endorsement even though, he suggests, there is some wooing going on.

"I'm busy running the state of Pennsylvania – working with the legislature. I receive contact from almost every one of the potential candidates out there on almost a monthly basis. I'm staying neutral."

But the governor adds he's staying neutral right now. A former Republican US Senator from Pennsylvania, Rick Santorum, is among the field of GOP presidential hopefuls. The last Republican governor of the state, Tom Ridge, has endorsed former Utah Governor Jon Huntsman.
