Amber Alert Issued For Parental Abduction In Center City

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Pennsylvania State Police has issued an Amber Child Abduction Alert for the Philadelphia Police Department.

Philadelphia police are searching for Kanief Dandy, a 19-month-old black male with black hair, brown eyes, 32 inches in length and 30 pounds. He was wearing black jeans and a red thermal shirt with gray sleeves.

He was last seen at 1515 Arch Street in Philadelphia on October 5th at 4 p.m.

He was abducted by his mother Natia Dandy, 34-year-old black female, with brown hair, brown eyes, 5’6” tall and 170 pounds. She was last seen wearing blue jeans, a white sweater and a black scarf on her head.

Police say Dandy ran off with her son during a supervised visit at a Department of Human Services office near City Hall.

The toddler was in custody of the DHS, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Central Detective Division at 215-686-3093 or dial 911.

How does a woman, carrying a 30 lb. child, get away, on foot, from a supervised visit?? Did no one chase her?? This is a disgrace…

YES, YES, EXACTLY!! Another thing: On the news they said she put the baby in a stroller and just walked out of the place. Did she come into the place with a stroller (which should have been a give away that she was going to take the child), or did she commandeer one that was already there? In any case, I stick by my statement that there was no supervision.

So much for SUPERVISED visitation. Whoever was in charge of SUPERVISING this visit should be FIRED!! And, if any harm comes to the child, they should be charged with that as well.
