PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Playing catch in the backyard with dad might seem like a regular Saturday pastime for some nine-year-old boys.
For David, it’s more than that.
David tells Gloria Hochman, of the National Adoption Center in Philadelphia, that he dreams of having a catch with his own father one day — and more.
(David:) “Play video games with him. He would play with me. I’d like to watch sports with him.”
(Hochman:) “And how about a mom? What would you like to do with a mom?”
(David:) “I would cook with her.”
(Hochman:) “What do you think you would like to cook?”
(David:) “Cookies and spaghetti.”
And Hochman says David is ready for a loving home:
“He wants to be part of a family. This is a good age to adopt a child. A nine-year-old is ready for the love and the caring and the commitment of a family. He’s a little bit shy, but once you get to know him he speaks up. He gets good grades in school, and he gets along well with adults and children.”
