College Football: Owls Look to Continue to Roll Against Toledo

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The Temple Owls are coming off one of the most impressive victories in recent program history.  Last week as they dismantled Maryland, 38-7, in College Park, thanks in large part to a school-record five rushing touchdowns by Bernard Pierce (center of photo).

Now, the Owls will get back into conference play as they host Toledo on Saturday afternoon at Lincoln Financial Field.

Temple is  3-1 after that Maryland win, while the Rockets sit at 1-3.

But Toledo is probably better than that record would indicate, as a blown official's call on an extra point last week cost them an upset win at Syracuse, and their other losses came at the hands of Ohio State and Boise State.

Temple won its MAC opener a couple of weeks ago when they beat Akron.   This will be Toledo's conference opener.

KYW's Matt Leon sat down with KYW's Harry Donahue, the longtime radio voice of the Owls, to talk about this matchup and review that Maryland win one more time.
