Atlantic City Casino Offers Plastic Surgery As Prize

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (CBS) -- Casinos are always looking for a way to attract gamblers and the Trump Taj Mahal is putting a new face on promotions that has some shaking their heads.

"Stupid. Nothing much else to say. That is just stupid," Pauline Adamoski of Amsterdam NY said.

Buying a better body courtesy of a nip here and a tuck there, the Taj is holding a $25,000 sweepstakes for plastic surgery.

"We determined if you had a few procedures and $25,000 seemed to take care of a lot," Kathleen Mc Sweeney Sr. V.P. of Marketing for Trump Entertainment Resorts said.

So for anyone who has been longing for botox, liposuction, or implants this contest is for you.

"Oh nip tuck. That sounds good," Paulette Lewis of Philadelphia said.

But for others, cosmetic surgery just isn't their thing.

"I wouldn't do it. I wouldn't do it. I like the way I am," said Bernadette Timberlake of Galloway NJ.

The drawing is on October 29th.

The winner can opt for the $25,000 prize in cash if he or she doesn't want the surgery.

This promotion comes less than two weeks after a 28-year-old man from North Jersey was shot and killed after he and his girlfriend were carjacked inside the Trump Taj Mahal parking lot.

Organizers of the promotion contend plans for the contest began before the tragedy.
