Truck Crash Creates Traffic Nightmare On I-95

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A tractor-trailer accident forced the closure of I-95 at Academy Road early Wednesday morning.

Northbound lanes were opened shortly after the crash, but southbound lanes remained closed until about 6:15 a.m. as  crews cleared the scene.

The shutdown forced motorists off the interstate and into the neighborhood streets in Northeast Philadelphia, and it wasn’t pretty. What should have been a quick commute into Center City under normal circumstances tuned into a voyage through  one way streets and traffic lights. Trucks were getting stuck on small streets along the detour route, especially on State Road.

They drive to fast & change lanes to often. Big bullies they are & the relationship between accidents involving trucks is frightening. I think half of them are on drugs or drunk. I used to be a 18 wheeler & it was never this bad. Violators should have their gypsy rigs confiscated & lose their license’s for a year.
