Phils Top Yanks In Attendance

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The baseball postseason has not even begun, but the Phillies have already beaten the Yankees in attendance.

After finishing second to the Yankees last season, the Phils will finish this regular season with the highest attendance in Major League Baseball. Through 81 regular season home games, the Phils drew a record 3,680,718 fans; topping this year's 3,653,680 at Yankee Stadium.

John Weber, Phillies Ticket VP, said it is a clear indication of how much the fans are supporting the team.

"It's really a World Series for our fans. Their support this year, the 3,680,000 which does put us at number one. So, thank you to our fans."

The Phils have sold out 204 consecutive games at Citizens Bank Park, and this season averaged more than 104 percent of capacity.
